Some Facts about Ocean Shipping- Pallet

After your personal belongings have been delivered to our warehouse, your boxes will be repackaged on pallets, and wrapped with plastic film.

Why do we need to go through this process? We will clarify the following 2 terms:
 

Pallet  

 

The function of a pallet is to support your boxes. It also simplifies the process of using a forklift to load your shipment into the container. The material of the pallets usually is either classic wooden, plastic, or heat-treated, depending on the commodity of your shipments. The U.S. standard pallet size has a length with 48inches and width with 40inches. Your boxes will be put on the standard wooden pallets, but there will also be other sizes available. If your shipment has a bigger dimension, a different size pallet will be provided accordingly. Every pallet can support a certain number of boxes, and the number may vary depending on the box sizes. If you are shipping a significant number of boxes, your boxes may need to be put on more than two pallets.


Stretch Wrap
 

The function of a stretch wrap is to stabilize your boxes, so the boxes won’t move around during domestic or ocean transport.

After your boxes have been placed on pallets, they will be wrapped with stretch wrap. Then, your shipment will be loaded into the container by using a forklift.

 

Your shipment will remain in the container and be transported to Taiwan with the vessel. After your shipment has arrived in Taiwan, we will do the customs clearance for your shipment and deliver your boxes to your residence with stretch wrap removed.
