Ocean Shipping Services
Scanwell Logistics (SFO) Inc. offers ocean shipping services from the U.S. to other countries around the world. If you would like to know about the shipping cost, please email us or fill out the Online Inquiry on our website.
Types of Services
Door-to-Door
We arrange trucks to pick up packages at the shipper’s residence. It will be an outdoor curbside pick up. After the shipment arrives at a destination, we will arrange the delivery and drop off the packages at the recipient’s residence.
*This type of delivery service is only available in limited areas.
Door-to-Port
We arrange trucks to pick up packages at the shipper’s residence. It will be an outdoor curbside pick up. After the shipment arrives at its destination, the recipient will pick up the packages at the destination’s warehouse.
Port-to-Door
Shipper will send or drop off packages at a nearby warehouse. After the shipment arrives at its destination, we will arrange delivery and drop off packages at the recipient’s residence.
Port-to-Port
Shipper will send or drop off packages at a nearby warehouse. After the shipment arrives at its destination, the recipient will pick up the packages at the destination’s warehouse.
Pick Up Fee
Scanwell provides trucking services all over the country. Pick up cost will vary depending on pick up area and number of packages. If you need a price quote, please provide your pick up address, zip code, and the number of boxes you are shipping.
Pick Up Time
Pick up time is available from Monday to Friday, 1pm- 5pm. There will be no pick up service on the weekends. Once you have confirmed your pick up date, please contact us at least 3 business days prior to that day. After we get your confirmation on your pick up information, we will help you arrange your pick up service.
NOTE: It is not recommended to arrange your pick up date 1 day prior your flight departure date. Please reserve at least 2 days for flexibility in order to avoid any circumstances that may affect your pick up schedule.
Pick Up Guidelines
The U.S. trucking service offers curbside pickup due to liability concern. Please bring all your packages outside of your building at your pick up time. It is important to seal your packages carefully. Please hand all your packages to driver at your scheduled pick up time. You may not need to hand over your ocean shipping documents and pick up fee to driver.
Self-Delivery Guidelines
If you choose to deliver your packages to our warehouse, it is required that you contact us before dropping them off. We will provide you with a booking number to reserve space at our warehouse. Once you get a booking number you may deliver your packages to our warehouse. Please note that warehouse can refuse to receive your packages if you do not have a booking number.
If you choose to deliver your packages through UPS, Fedex, or other domestic shipping services, it is required to contact us to request a booking number. After you deliver your boxes, please provide your packages’ estimated arrival date and tracking number. To avoid any risk of domestic shipping, please contact UPS or Fedex for buying insurance.
Ocean Shipping Required Documents
We need you to email or fax the following documents for declaration purposes. Please have those ready before delivery/ pick up time.

3. Box Label
4. Shipping Notes & Agreement
5. Copy of Passport
6. Flight Information
Payment Method
We will usually send you an Invoice either after a warehouse has received your packages or after we have received your ocean shipping documents. For payment methods, we accept Personal Check, Cashier's Check, and Money Order. You can also visit our office in South San Francisco if you would like to pay by cash.
If you are closing your U.S. bank account, we suggest that you pay by Money Order. Generally, U.S. banks and postal offices all have services for purchasing Money Orders. The service fee at U.S. postal offices usually costs less, around $1.50. You may purchase Money Order by cash or debit card, more information is available on U.S. postal office’s official website.

Scanwell’s San Francisco branch handles all personal effect shipments from the U.S. Please write a check or Money Order and send it to our office in South San Francisco. Shipping cost is generally 44 cents per mail.
